Snoopy The Cat
This is a picture of Snoopy on my lap. Snoopy is feeling a little unwell today because he got himself into a fight last Saturday night. I know cats are not to roam the streets, Snoopy knows this too, but he escaped after dinner and we couldn’t find him. He came limping home on Sunday morning with a swollen paw.
We took him to the vet and all’s well, yet Snoopy wasn’t his usual self. This cat does know how to find comfort though, he jumped up and placed his paw into my hand. Animals know how to look after themselves don’t they? Never ceases to amaze me after all these years of Reiki how Snoopy will just plonk himself down on me when in need.
I have studied Reiki over many years now and as an offering to humans, it can be an amazing experience, but to have an animal know and relax into me like that fills with wonderment every time. It doesn’t last long, he fills up and moves on as cats are prone to do, but for me the experience puts me in my place. I say Snoopy is my cat, but he goes out Saturday night, gets into a fight and comes home for dinner and Reiki on Sunday: I think rather, I am his human!
Reiki is something that I enjoy in my life, I give myself Reiki daily and I have a list of those in need that I send Reiki to weekly, sometimes daily if an emergency. It is my meditation practice, my self awareness practice and enables me to extend the hand of warmth and healing in my practice.
So many times over the last ten years I have been able to calm my self when life was calamitous, soothe my children’s aches and pains, and share Reiki with my husband, pets and family in a way that keeps my feet on the ground. I couldn’t do that once upon a time
Snoopy is a wonderful patient, as you can see in this pic, he is healing well with vet treatment and with Reiki. Reiki can be helpful around the home, for self, animals, gardening – all things love and connect to Reiki, because Reiki is the energy of life, love and is universal.
I will be teaching Reiki Shoden Level One over two Wednesdays, 25th June and 3rd July at Wellsprings. We chose Wednesday for mums and those who would like to learn the simple art of Reiki during the day while the kids are at school (and keep their weekend free). Saturday classes will be up and running soon
WendyJoy will be running a practice day for those who already have Reiki in their lives on 6th July.
See you at the Reiki class in June,
much love, Janet xx
One Response to “Snoopy The Cat”
Thanks Janet, glad to hear Snoopy is on the mend.
I had a wonderful dog called Sox, he died 4 years ago at the wonderful old age of 21. He was a Reiki dog! I could not sit anywhere in the garden without him plonking himself on me and nosing me until I placed my hands on him. It was funny though, it never lasted long because it tickled him; he would shake his back right leg until he couldn’t take it anymore, walk away and then return for some more.
I have no doubt that he lived that long because of his daily Reiki. He was a little senile in the end but absolutely adorable and I wish he was still here – perhaps he is? 🙂
