Celebrating Life

Winter Solstice 2013

Winter Solstice 2013 is this Friday 21st June

How can it be that we reach the shortest day of the year and the sun shines so brightly for us?

How time flies, summer seems like only yesterday. I do love the summer, I enjoy it so much, and the winter helps me to know this. I guess winter will soon grace us with its presence: I was sure it was here the other day, but at 13.5C it is not cold enough just yet to say it’s here!

Soon to come are the wet days, walks on windy beaches, gazing at the stormy black clouds – I love everything about winter – except the cold – I love you winter from inside my home with the fire roaring.

The weeping elm will be so confused with the sunlight playing on it’s branches this afternoon. Ah, I think the world is confused by the changing of the seasons, perhaps we are too.

The full moon is almost upon us, Saturday the 23rd June; a great night for a walk under the trees to look for possums. Always good fun.

What will you be doing?
